BHP sought to rush Michael West Media and injured coal miner Simon Turner to the Federal Court, seeking an urgent order to take down a story we believed was absolutely in the public interest.
The court refused to hear BHP’s urgent application and postponed the matter to its regular schedule. At the center of this fight is a coal miner who broke his back on a BHP mine site, a small independent newsroom and one of the world’s biggest companies trying to cover up the news rather than answering basic questions.
