‘Black Mirror’ Renewed for Season 8

Los Angeles: Netflix’s popular series ‘Black Mirror’ has been renewed for the eighth season.
On Friday, Netflix shared this exciting update by releasing the transcript of a conversation with creator Charlie Brooker in which he beamed about the series’ three Golden Globe nominations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The seventh edition of Brooker’s dystopian anthology series topped the Netflix charts upon its release in April 2025, garnering 10.6 million views in its first week on the platform. The six episodes were sequels to USS Callister, which is considered one of the most popular episodes in the program’s history.
These episodes earned Brooker nominations for Outstanding Television Miniseries, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television, as well as acting nominations for Rashida Jones and Paul Giamatti for their performances in “Common People” and “Eulogy,” respectively. In an August 2025 chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Brooker said there were “lots more Black Mirror stories ready to go.” “As technology evolves, there are new Black Mirror-y ideas that you can see all the time,” he said. “I read the other day that people’s mental illusions are reinforced by extended language patterns and AIs conversing with you, and you can almost instantly see multiple story ideas jump into your head. There’s a lot more scary oil in the tank, basically.”
