Two Convicted In 2017 Attempted Rape, Attempt To Murder Case

What are you doing? The VI Additional District Magistrate’s Court in Chittoor found two men guilty of attempt to rape and attempt to murder in a 2017 case and sentenced them to three years and six months rigorous imprisonment each. The court also fined the defendants 500 lira each.

According to the police, the case was registered at Alipiri police station on the complaint of the Erramitta-affected woman in Tirupati. He claimed that his 24-year-old daughter was attacked near an under-construction building on the road between Ruia Hospital and Iskcon temple on May 27, 2017.

Police said that the two suspects threatened the woman with a knife, forced her into the car and took her to a secluded place, where they attacked her with an iron bar and attempted sexual assault.

Thereafter, Alipiri deputy inspector P. Mallikarjuna Reddy registered a case and filed a complaint after completing the investigation. The case was heard as Sessions Case No. 348 of 2017 in the VI Additional District Magistrate’s Court, Chittoor.

After examining the prosecution evidence and witness statements, the court found A. Venkatesh (31) and T. Shashi (40), both residents of Tirupati, guilty of the crimes.

Tirupati superintendent of police L. Subba Rayudu appreciated the investigating officers, assistant public prosecutor M. Balaji, liaison officer head police officer B. Girish Babu, presiding officer police officer G. Nagaraju, investigating officer P. Mallikarjuna Reddy and Alipiri inspector Rama Kishore for securing the conviction.
