British girl, three, dies following 24-hour fight for life after being pulled from a pool at holiday villa in Spain

A three-year-old British boy who was found ‘floating face down’ in a holiday pool was taken to hospital and died.

The little girl was brought back to life by the poolside of the four-bed villa the family rented in Pollensa in northern Majorca, following the drama at around 8pm on Wednesday.

His family rescued him from the water and police, and paramedics later took over by performing CPR on him when they arrived at the scene.

However, after he was hospitalized with a very weak pulse, it was said that his condition was ‘very serious’ yesterday morning at Son Espases Hospital in Palma, the capital of Majorca.

And it turned out that tragically, overnight, the child lost his fight for life. He passed away yesterday afternoon.

The Police investigation into the incident continues today. A force spokesman said this morning: ‘The boy was rushed to hospital on Wednesday evening but sadly he died in hospital at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.’

A well-placed source added: ‘He was British.’

The drama is the fourth of its kind involving a British family in just over a week following the deaths of three teenagers aged one, three and four in separate incidents on the Costa del Sol and the Canary Islands.

A British boy rescued from his family’s holiday pool in Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands, died in hospital, it was revealed on Wednesday.

The one-year-old girl was found swimming in a swimming pool on June 15 at an unnamed apartment complex in Lajares, a laid-back interior village in the municipality of La Oliva in the northern part of the island.

The young man, who was revived and stabilized at the scene after it was understood that he had a heart attack, was flown to Materno Infantil University Hospital on the island of Gran Canaria and taken to the pediatric intensive care unit in a critical condition.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that the toddler had passed away after suffering ‘irreversible neurological damage’ that made it impossible for him to recover.

Sebastian Quintana, president of maritime safety organization Canarias 1500 Km de Costa, offered his condolences to the girl’s family, saying: ‘With deep sadness, we extend our condolences to her parents and the entire family.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that they should always keep an eye on young children and get into the water with them.’

It was learned that the investigation of the Civil Guard, coordinated by the local court, continues.

A four-year-old British girl drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel in Lanzarote on Saturday.

The young man lost his life despite the intensive efforts of the medical teams who arrived at the scene.

The incident took place around 13.30 in an unnamed hotel in the Playa Blanca resort. In addition to the emergency service helicopter, ambulances and police were also mobilized.

Last Wednesday, a three-year-old British boy died after falling into the swimming pool at a holiday home where he was staying with his family near the Costa del Sol.

The alarm was sounded at around 8:30 a.m. on June 17 at a farmhouse in the village of Periana, in Spain’s La Axarquia region, about 30 miles northeast of Malaga.

Police and paramedics rushed to the rural home and a helicopter was also mobilized as part of the emergency response.

However, there was nothing they could do to save the young man’s life and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement and direct message to the boy’s parents, the Municipality of Periana said in a statement and direct message to the boy’s parents after learning of the tragedy, which occurred just one day after the family had checked into their rented holiday home: ‘Today is an extremely sad day for our town.

‘On behalf of the Periana Municipal Council, we express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased child.

‘There are no words that can ease this much pain, but we want to convey to you all our love, support and solidarity at this difficult time.

‘All Periana share your sorrow and stand with you in your grief at such a painful and unfair loss.’
