Bruce Springsteen turns up the volume; not with music but with an impassioned political speech that puts him back at the center of the debate.

Springsteen began addressing the audience and said, “America’s richest men have abandoned the world’s poorest children to death and disease by eliminating U.S. aid. It’s happening now. We’re undermining NATO and the world order that’s kept us safe and at global peace for 80 years. It’s happening now.”

Springsteen extended his attack to US alliances and global standing.

The “US-born” singer continued to target cultural institutions and the current administration under President Donald Trump.

“Our museums are being told to cover up unpleasant or inconvenient facts about American history, like the entire history of the brutality of slavery. If you want to talk about snowflakes, we have a president who can’t handle the facts. This is happening now.”

He then moved on to accusations of corruption at the highest levels of government.

“While working Americans struggle, our president and his family enrich themselves by trading billions of dollars in public office for corruption unparalleled in American history. It’s happening now.”

Springsteen argued that America’s global reputation was collapsing.

“The White House, this White House, is destroying the American idea and our reputation around the world. We are no longer seen by many as a flawed but powerful defender of democracy who advocates for the global good.”

“We are no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. We are now America, a reckless, unpredictable, marauding, rogue nation. That will be the legacy of this administration and this president. And it’s happening right now.”

As online reactions intensified, he concluded his speech with a call to core values.

“Honesty, honor, humility, integrity, compassion, thoughtfulness, morality, true strength and kindness. Don’t let anyone tell you those things don’t matter anymore. They do.”

Critics were quick to respond to Springsteen’s controversial speech.

“Let’s see him give his wealth to the poor. He won’t. He’s just getting paid to impress socialists on the left,” one commenter wrote.

Another added: “People who buy tickets are buying to listen to his music, but now he’s just making political statements. I’ve never been to his concert, and I definitely won’t go to it now.”

Another comment said: “Hypocrisy is nothing new in Hollywood! They have no knowledge of the life of the average American!”

The 76-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has kept his wealth in the spotlight for decades.

According to Forbes, Springsteen has sold more than 140 million albums worldwide during his 50-year touring and recording career.

But it wasn’t just album sales that propelled Springsteen into billionaire territory.

His biggest gain came from selling his music catalog to Sony Music Entertainment for a lump sum of $500 million in 2021.

Last week, Springsteen also sparked outrage with additional comments about immigration and US policy at his show in Minneapolis.

“There are immigrants held in detention centers across the country and deported to foreign countries and foreign labor camps without due process,” he said. “This is happening now.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Springsteen for comment.
