Bruno Guimaraes: Arsenal set to bid £70m for Newcastle midfielder

Arsenal They will make a £70 million bid for newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes.

Brazil international Guimaraes is a priority target for Arsenal and the midfielder is keen to join the Premier League champions.

Newcastle are aware of the 28-year-old’s preference to join Arsenal this summer.

Talks regarding the possible transfer of Guimaraes are ongoing and are thought to have accelerated in recent days, but it is not yet known whether Arsenal’s £70 million offer will meet Newcastle’s value.

Arsenal is determined to strengthen its squad with high-quality players this summer in order to maintain its title from last season.

The north London side were interested in signing Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117m, but refused to go for anything higher than the £80m they had set for the player.

It is understood Arsenal were given the opportunity to match Chelsea’s offer for Rogers but rejected it.

Similarly, Arsenal have a strict maximum on Guimaraes and although they would like to sign the midfielder, they do not want to overpay.

Arsenal also have a keen interest in Villa defender Ezri Konsa and have inquired about the England international’s availability.

Konsa is Arsenal’s first-choice defensive target.

Como’s Jacobo Ramon is also on the list of defenders Arsenal wants to buy, but it seems that the clauses in the Spanish contract make the agreement difficult.

Missing Rogers, the Gunners remain in the market for offensive reinforcements.

Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is Arsenal’s dream target, but the player’s desire to join Barcelona and the cost, which could exceed the British record fee of £125 million set when Alexander Isak moved from Newcastle to Liverpool, pose obvious challenges.
