Centre issues new guidelines for transfusion of animal blood

The Ministry of Fisheries, the Department of Livestock and Milkism within the scope of Livestock and Milkization (DIM) has recently published instructions and standard operating procedures for blood transfusion and blood banks for animals in the country.
Mandatory blood writing and cross -pairing to prevent veterinary blood banks organized by the state with biogugural standards and to prevent incompatibility are the main important points of the instructions.
Ethical framework
The document will also have an ethical framework that emphasizes voluntary, non -rearranged donations and informed consents. SOPs for transfusion monitoring, adverse reaction management and recording holding are part of the guidelines. The document offers a national veterinary blood bank network (N-VBBN) with digital records and real-time inventory.
The department said that animals will be the biggest utilitors of guidelines for their safer, life -saving transfusion support support in emergencies and critical care. Veterinarians’ structured protocols and reference materials for clinical application will be and farmers will take more healthy animal husbandry, death and livelihood resources receivables, the government will develop animal welfare and stronger food safety, he said.
The center said that India has never had a comprehensive national framework for veterinary transfusion medicine. “Most animal transfusion was performed in emergencies without standard donor scanning, blood writing or storage protocols,” he said.
Guides will integrate a ‘health’ principles to manage zoonotic risks. “When we look forward, these guidelines encourage innovation through mobile blood collection units, cryopreservation for rare blood species, donor-stores mobile applications for mobile applications and advanced transfusion research,” he said.
