Centre Tightens Rule on Scribes for PwDs

NEW DELHI: The center tightened the rules of the use of religious scholars in competitive exams for disabled people, which compulsory the organs to prepare their own veterinarian pools within two years and to make the “own scribed” system, which is widely used for the abundance.
Reviewed directives published by the Ministry of Social Justice and Strengthening, Justice, Transparency and Integrity in Exams, Rights of Disabled People, 2016 and Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Vehicles) Law includes 2024. SC directives and are consistent with the Rights Law of Disabled People.
Guidelines emphasize that candidates should be encouraged to try examinations with the help of screencrafts such as software-input laptops, Braille, large printing, recorders, JAWS and NVDA, or auxiliary technologies such as speaking-text software. The Ministry said that this approach will reduce the confidence in religious scholars while preparing candidates for independent functions in workplaces and vocational courses.
One of the most remarkable changes is gradual from specially arranged articles examining objects marked as a source of wrong application in the past. “UPSC, DOPT, NRA, etc., and important inputs have been taken from responsible organs and expressed the concerns about the reliability and transparency of the exams in which PWDs are generally used by using a author. In particular, the ‘own author’ provision has been defined as an important vulnerable to maintain the integrity and fairness of the examination process.” The wrong application examples, including the agreement between the candidates and their specially arranged religious scholars, have been observed by the various examinations organs in which the scientific scholars wrote answers independently without sufficient dictation.
