The Supreme Court said Thursday that ordering the abortion drug mifepristone by mail will be allowed pending the outcome of an appeal challenging the drug’s delivery method.

The Supreme Court did not say how many members of the nine-judge court voted to stay a lower court order blocking the mail order of mifepristone. The majority did not make a statement regarding their decision.

Two conservative justices on the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, filed written opinions opposing the decision.
