CJP declines to meet JP Nadda at his residence, says govt should come to Jantar Mantar

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) ‘categorically’ rejected the government’s invitation to meet Union Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday, saying the government should now come to the protest site at Jantar Mantar.

Speaking to reporters, CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said, “This morning, the police reached us again and informed us that BJP national president JP Nadda wanted to talk to us. They invited us to his house, but we flatly refused. We are not going to anyone’s house or office.”

A ‘janata darbar’ is being held here, he said, adding that the ministers should come to the people if they want to talk. “The debate should be held at Jantar Mantar.”

Das added that the government was willing to meet at a neutral location near the CJP’s protest site in case there were security concerns. He also added that the government must first clarify whether it truly intends to meet the party’s demands and that there is no point in holding “meaningless discussions”.

The refusal to meet the minister at his residence comes at a time when CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has called out the Delhi Police for his recent remarks, saying, “Delhi police have no moral right to advise us on peaceful protest after beating up students on Monday.”
