Police investigating the terrible accident in which four people lost their lives are examining video footage showing a vehicle reaching a speed of 192 kilometers per hour. Video footage showing a driver weaving in and out of traffic reaching dangerous speeds forms part of the investigation into the fatal head-on crash on Wigan Road in Bolton at around 12.45pm on Sunday.

Footage widely circulated online is understood to be being examined in relation to the nightmarish collision between a red Seat Leon and a Citroën C4 Picasso taxi. The names of the deceased driver and the two passengers in the seat were stated by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) as Muhammed Jibrael Muhtar (18), Farhan Patel (18) and Muhammed Danyaal (19).

The name of the driver of the murdered taxi was determined as 54-year-old Masrob Ali. His daughter Humayra Ali, 29, told BBC Manchester: “This is absolutely devastating. We are all in shock, even denial. “I feel like this is a bad dream that I’m about to wake up from.

“He was a really nice guy, everybody said that. Everyone who knew him said he was a kind man, very generous, had a big heart. People came back to tell me he had a very kind soul, he was a hard worker, and he was a hard worker until his last breath.”

According to MENThe timestamp on the video clip, shared widely on social media, indicates that it was filmed at 3am on Saturday, January 10, apparently at 3am – just 24 hours before the fatal crash at 12.50pm on Sunday. The publication said it was understood the video was believed to have been taken by a passenger of the Seat Leon involved in the fatal crash on Wigan Road.

Manchester Police said five passengers from both vehicles remained in hospital for treatment. A 29-year-old woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in the Citroen. A 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were seriously injured in the accident, while a 29-year-old man was slightly injured.

The seat passenger, an 18-year-old man, remains hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries.

Bolton Mosques Council, which named the three young men on Sunday, said in a statement that it was closely supporting the families of the victims. Families are also supported by specially trained officers, GMP said.

5 passengers in both vehicles were injured and were treated in hospital.

A woman living in Wigan Road said she was woken up by a “loud explosion” and when she looked out of her bedroom window she saw “some debris” on the road. He also saw a red car that was “really damaged.”

A male resident didn’t see what happened but heard a “car speeding up.” Footage posted online from a nearby property showed a head-on collision before both cars and debris were sent flying in different directions.

Detective Inspector Andrew Page, from GMP’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “I would like to thank first responders and the road policing unit in our Bolton area for their hard work since this incident, alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service.”

Local councilor Ayyub Patel said the “community is deeply saddened by this tragic news”, adding that it should be left to the authorities to conduct investigations.
