CNN and MS NOW viewers are being kept in the dark about the illegal immigrant accused of killing 18-year-old Loyola University Chicago student Sheridan Gorman.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed on Sunday that the suspect, Jose Medina-Medina, was a “criminal illegal alien from Venezuela” who was captured by the U.S. Border Patrol and released into the country in 2023 under the Biden administration. Medina-Medina was released again a month after he was arrested for theft.
CNN and MS NOW ignored the story throughout Monday night, according to network transcripts and website search results on Grabien Media.

Representatives for CNN and MS NOW did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.
On Thursday morning, Gorman was shot in the back while walking with a group of friends on Chicago’s lakefront; His friends tried to escape when the suspect came towards them with a gun. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The story is reminiscent of the murder of Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant in 2024. At the time, the veteran press was frequently chastised by conservatives for downplaying or ignoring the killer’s immigration status.
Liberal networks seem to be following a similar scenario, this time forgetting to mention a senseless murder at all.
President Donald Trump called Gorman’s killing “devastating.” But anyone who relies on CNN or MS NOW for information would have no idea.
The Chicago Police Department on Sunday formally charged Medina-Medina with murder in the shooting of Gorman.

A police source also told Fox News Digital that Thursday’s shooting was an apparent ambush and that the gunman was wearing a mask or face covering. The suspect is believed to live in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
Investigators have found a gun believed to be linked to the murder and are awaiting results of gunpowder residue testing, sources said.
The suspect, who is being treated for tuberculosis, is expected to attend the detention hearing via teleconference on Friday.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and Loyola University community who are saddened by the senseless murder of Sheridan Gorman. Violent crimes have no place on our streets, and we expect the alleged perpetrator to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. The Trump Administration needs to stop politicizing heinous tragedies and instead focus on real solutions, like restoring federal funding to prevent violence that supports our public safety efforts,” Pritzker said. he said.
