Congress’ KC Venugopal writes to PM Modi, calls for SC-monitored probe in Ayodhya donation case

New Delhi: Congress on Thursday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging a Supreme Court-monitored inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of donations from the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

However, the Opposition request, which coincides with reports of officials planning to hand over the ongoing special investigation team (SIT) investigation to a central agency, did not elaborate on which body should conduct the investigation under the supervision of the top court.

AICC general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal, in his letter to the Prime Minister, said that “a scam of this magnitude, involving claims running into hundreds of millions of rupees, is a colossal betrayal of the Hindu faith, religion and way of life”.
“Lord Ram is revered as the embodiment of justice and righteousness. Allowing allegations of this nature to be buried instead of being investigated impartially would be deeply unfair to his devotees and the values he represents,” the letter said. It was said. “Therefore, it is the moral responsibility of the government and you as its head, to restore the faith of over 1.4 billion Indians in the government’s intent and ability to safeguard endowments and preserve the sanctity of an institution established in the name of Lord Ram.”
