Dave Matthews, frontman of the Dave Matthews Band, condemned Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as “loopholes” during his Friday concert.
“I don’t know why we let people make excuses for why we should kill each other, you know?” Matthews said. “There are always reasons why we kill each other. When they grow up they tell our children and use their own words. I wonder what’s wrong with us? I don’t know why we lost our way. It seems that way – but maybe we’ve always been that way, we’ve gotten better at doing things that can kill each other.” viral video clip of your concert.
“Anyway, I wanted to say his name. I wrote it down so I wouldn’t forget, this young man – well, old man, but we’re all young – this father and grandfather killed by ICE in Houston, Texas. Then they say he’s not even the man they’re looking for – he’s not even the man they’re looking for. So don’t pull the trigger, you idiots.”
“So I just wanted to say: I’m sorry if this language offends his family, his friends, or his community, but it still makes me angry, so I want to post this in memory of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who was killed by ICE in Houston a few days ago,” he added.

Illegal immigrant Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national, was shot and killed in Houston after he allegedly tried to hit U.S. ICE officers during an operation, the agency said Tuesday. An ICE spokesperson told Fox News Digital that ICE officers attempted a traffic stop around 6:50 a.m.
Araujo attempted to evade ICE officers when he “armed his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer, causing our officer to fire his weapon in self-defense.”

Matthews has previously condemned ICE agents. He spoke in a video after activist Renee Good was killed during an altercation with ICE agents in Minneapolis in February on Instagram.
“I don’t want my taxes paying for ICE, I don’t want masked thugs roaming our streets, terrorizing our communities and tearing families apart. We have to take care of each other. We have to look out for each other. We have to house the homeless. You know, we have to not throw people down,” he said.
“Which brings me to Renee Nicole Good,” she continued. “He was murdered in front of his citizens in Minneapolis, he was murdered in the streets, and no matter what narrative this administration is trying to sell us, we can see the videos.”
