Differently-Abled Minor Sexually Assaulted by Five in Kerala
Police said on Friday that an investigation was launched after a differently-abled underage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by five people in this area last year. Bekal police station officials said that separate cases were filed against five people regarding the incidents.
A preliminary investigation was launched recently based on the information provided by the parents of the 17-year-old boy. According to police, the victim was sexually assaulted by five different people on different occasions last year.
Police said the girl only revealed this to her parents last month. It was stated that following the information given by the police about the incident, the Kasaragod Child Welfare Committee launched an investigation and met with the victim who disclosed the incident to them.
Based on the Child Welfare Committee report and the parent’s complaint, separate cases have been registered against five persons under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act at Bekal police station, officials said. Police reported that efforts were being made to catch the suspects.
