Donald Trump given bizarre royal title by officials in King Charles message | Royal | News

When the American anthem played, the President saluted and the First Lady held her hand over her heart.

Wearing a bright red tie, Mr Trump led the King as he inspected the troops standing on the lawn. The President saluted as he walked quickly past him.

Turning to Dias, Mr. Trump then delivered a 12-minute speech reflecting his warmth and love for the Royal Family.

He was incredibly friendly, full of jokes and tributes to the King and his late mother.

Following this morning’s pomp and show, the White House posted on its official Instagram account a photo of the monarch laughing during the ceremonial welcome with the US President.

But it was the strange headline that raised eyebrows: “TWO KINGS. [crown emoji]”

Many in the comments section praised the US President for hosting the ceremonial welcome, while others claimed the title was the ultimate “anger trap”.

Following the official welcome, the King gave a moving speech to Congress today, speaking of the heart of the relationship between the UK and the US as “a story of reconciliation, renewal and remarkable partnership”.

He also referred to the “victims” in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, saying: “Dear members of the 119th Congress, this spirit of freedom and the promise of America’s Founders are present here in these halls in every session and in every vote cast. Not by the will of one, but by the deliberation of many who represent the living mosaic of the United States of America.”

“In both countries, it is the existence of our vibrant, diverse and free societies that gives us our collective strength, including supporting the victims of some of the diseases that are tragically present in both our societies today.”
