A woman has been charged over the death of her great-grandmother, who was attacked at Birmingham train station.
Dorothy Chiles, 87, broke her hip after the incident on the concourse at Birmingham New Street station.
British Transport Police (BTP) said the incident occurred at around 11am on 19 November 2024.
He underwent surgery and was released from the hospital, but died at home on December 27.
Charlie Lane, 26, has been charged with manslaughter and a racially aggravated public order offence, BTP said on Wednesday.
Lane, of Marlborough Road, Gloucester, was released on conditional bail and will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on April 30.
In a statement released by police following her death, Ms Chiles’ family said she was a “vibrant, outgoing woman whose energy was infectious”.
They said: “Dorothy was more than a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she was a best friend, a guiding light and an endless source of joy.”
