ED seizes social media influencer’s luxury cars, check details

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday said it seized two luxury high-end vehicles, a Land Rover Defender and a BMW Z4, belonging to social media influencer and Youtuber Anurag Dwivedi. Emergency Service said that many documents and digital devices related to the issue were seized.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Monday that it has seized two luxury high-end vehicles, a Land Rover Defender and a BMW Z4, belonging to social media influencer and Youtuber Anurag Dwivedi. The investigation agency took action last week while conducting search operations in various states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh in an illegal online betting and gambling case.
The raids were carried out last Wednesday, December 31, 2025 and Thursday, January 1, 2026, at nine locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Lucknow and Varanasi under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. “Proceeds of Crime (POC),” ED said in a statement.
Emergency Service said that many documents and digital devices related to the issue were seized. Earlier, on December 17, 2025, the ED raided 10 premises linked to YouTuber Anurag Dwivedi in Lucknow, Unnao and Delhi. During these searches, four luxury vehicles namely Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes, Ford Endeavor and Thar were seized, along with incriminating documents, digital devices and cash amounting to around Rs 20 lakh.
“The seized materials revealed real estate investments in Dubai through hawala channels and movable assets worth around Rs 3 million in the form of insurance policies, fixed deposits and bank balances were frozen under Section 17(1A) of PMLA 2002,” he said. ED has initiated an investigation based on the First Information Report registered by the West Bengal Police in connection with illegal online betting operations.
“It was revealed that an online betting panel in Siliguri was operated by the accused Sonu Kumar Thakur and Vishal Bhardwaj using mule bank accounts and digital platforms.” ED investigation also found that “Anurag Dwivedi actively promoted illegal betting platforms, received POC through hawala channels and mule accounts and purchased immovable properties in Dubai from such proceeds.”
“It was also found that Anurag Dwivedi had left India and is currently residing in Dubai and did not appear before the ED despite multiple summons being issued,” ED said. Earlier in the same case, ED had arrested three persons and filed a Complaint of Prosecution before a special PMLA court in Kolkata on August 1, 2025. The ED had also frozen and attached movable assets worth Rs 27 billion in the present case.
