St Bart’s $30m social housing project gets green light

St Bart’s proposal for a $ 30 million social housing facility in East Perth was approved by planning officials.

Earlier this year, the non-profit accommodation provider made an eight-storey social housing project on 111-113 Kensington Street.

The proposal will sit in the near vicinity at the Bart’s 39 million dollar housing elderly care facility, which has recently been approved by St Bart.

Both projects will include the demolition and reconstruction of existing buildings.

The 56 -person project unanimously received approval at a Metro Interior Development Evaluation Panel meeting this morning.

Speaking to support the project, Mayor of Perth City Bruce Reynolds spoke about the importance of the project.

“We define us how we support our most vulnerable community and know that we need more support in vulnerable conditions,” he said.

The provisions of the parking lot were brought to the agenda as a potential problem, and St Bart offered only four cars compartments to sit behind the building.

Expert member John Syme accepted the issue, but the applicant said he trusted the grounds that there was no additional parking.

Orum I accept evidence that the parking evidence is low for the residents of St Bart, ”he said.

“I don’t think it’s an additional parking lot [needed]. ”

Mr. Reynolds reiterated Mr. Syme’s comments and said that it was an interesting change if a developer parked more in an offer.

“When it comes to park, cities have a constant Rubik’s problems,” he said.

“In this case, the best way to know what they need and need to the applicant.”

During the construction of the project, pruning of pruning was unanimously supported.

DAP said that the height of the building is significantly higher than the existing two -storey building on the site, but the development is suitable for the site.

They also rejected their concerns about the potential negative impact on property values in the region by nearby residents.

Presidential member Francesca Lefante said that development is suitable in terms of land use, scale and form.

He said that he did not see any problems with the possibilities in the building and trusted St Bart in his long history of providing social housing.
