Eugenie doesn’t pay for security or maintenance at London home for one reason | Royal | News

There’s no major reason why Princess Eugenie has to pay for security and maintenance at her UK base. It is known that the 36-year-old man, who celebrated his birthday on Monday, divides his time between Ivy Cottage in London and Portugal due to his wife Jack Brooksbank’s workload.

The couple, who married in October 2018, are proud parents to two sons, five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest. The family of four have been using Ivy Cottage since the year of their wedding and the three-bedroom property remains in Crown Estate hands. Since the house is located within the walls of Kensington Palace, all management, including repairs and adequate security, belongs to the Crown Estate.

Although Ivy Cottage is now used as a royal estate, it was built with a completely different use in mind.

Built in the 19th century, the building was originally built as modest accommodation for palace staff.

In addition to their home in the United Kingdom, the couple lives in one of the most ostentatious and luxurious complexes on the Alentejan coastline.

Eugenie is currently dealing with the fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

As Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice deal with the current scandal surrounding their parents, royal expert and author of The Windsor Inheritance Robert Jobson recently shared a few rules they must follow.

She said: “My understanding is that the princesses were advised to keep their heads down, avoid any actions that might cause headlines and certainly not do anything that looked like a game that would involve or rehabilitate their parents.”

“The York situation right now is fascinating and truly complex. Their brand is extremely toxic; Andrew’s relationship with Epstein continues to cast a long shadow.”
