Sydney youth service founder Father Chris Riley dies age 70

A leading youth support worker and priest Father Chris Riley died at the age of 70.

The Catholic priest was known for his work as the founder of youth from the streets in Sydney.

His death was announced on the Instagram page of the service in the afternoon after a “long health period”.

NSW Prime Minister Chris Minns marked his death with “deep sadness ve and noted that the“ visionary ”study has changed the lives of tens of thousands of young people in the New Southern Wales”.

“While establishing young people on the streets in 1991, a single food minibus on Kings Cross has turned into a life -saving crisis, consultancy and support services around the other wrapping network,” he said.

“Father Riley believed that he was not a bad -born child, and he had spent proves that young lives could be transformed with compassion and opportunity for more than thirty years to overcome.”
