He reiterated the concerns of Shannon Welch Baker, a member of the Assembly.
“We must be a financial sustainable council, and unfortunately this is one of the unpleasant things we need to do,” he said.
Nicole Antonini, a member of the Assembly, accepted: “Unfortunately, in the light of IPart’s decision, we are in a difficult position. This is not ideal, it is definitely not the choice of most of this council, but we have very few options in our current financial situation.”
