Former River City actor Iain Robertson found guilty of rape

Actor Iain Robertson was found guilty of rape following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
Robertson, 45, who previously starred in River City, was convicted of a total of five crimes against multiple women between 2004 and 2019.
He will be sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on July 23.
The rape occurred between 2018 and 2019.
During the hearing, the woman told the court Robertson had sex with her despite making it clear he had no consent, and described how she “went limp” when he got on top of her.
Giving evidence during the hearing, Robertson said he was “no angel” but denied any wrongdoing.
He said he was “aware” of when a woman had consented and was “sensitive” enough to know non-verbal communication.
However, the jury found him guilty of rape along with four other charges.
