Kathmandu: Nepal police busted a scam involving millions of rupees at a casino in Kathmandu and six people, including four Indians, were arrested.
The scam was uncovered at the Waldom Casino in the tourist hub of Thamel.
According to a spokesman for the Kathmandu District Police, the arrests were made in connection with cheating by real players using playing cards with magnets to manipulate the game and eyepieces to secretly identify the cards.
Police Department Inspector Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said seven people, including two Nepalis involved in the scam, are at large.
The gambling scam was detected during a special gaming event held at Casino Waldom from December 11-14.
All players participating in the gaming event are from India.
According to players, transactions worth Rs 17 million were made during the event.
The owner of the casino is a Chinese citizen named Chyang Ming.
