Fuel Queues in Warangal as Officials Cite Supply Delay

-Warangal: Long queues were reported at fuel stations in the old Warangal district on Monday due to delays in supply and rumors of price hikes. The density was also felt in Narsimhulapet and Parkal, where consumers gathered in vehicles and containers from the early hours of the morning. Demand for diesel remained high due to ongoing agricultural activities.
District civil quartermaster J. Ramesh conducted inspections at fuel stations to assess stocks and address concerns. He said there was a temporary supply gap and ruled out the possibility of sellers hoarding.
Inspections in Mahbubabad town confirmed shortage of petrol and diesel, with vendors reporting delays of two to three days in receiving tankers despite placing orders, the official said. He added that the tankers were in transit and were expected to arrive in the evening or the next day.
Officials attributed the delay to logistical changes at oil depots in Suryapet, Cherlapally and Warangal, where dealers now have to make advance payments. Even though the payments were made, the departure of the fuel tankers was delayed for approximately 48 hours.
Authorities warned the public against panic buying and urged them not to believe rumors about price increases. With multiple tankers on the way, supplies are expected to stabilize by Tuesday morning, officials said.
