Ganga Expressway: All you need to know about the expandable six-lane greenfield corridor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ganga Expressway in Hardoi district on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the rollout of large-scale infrastructure in the country.
Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of the project in Shahjahanpur on December 18, 2021, and the construction will begin in April 2022. It was reported that the expressway was first conceived in 2007 during the tenure of then Prime Minister Mayawati and was revived in 2019 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
