Gary Lineker, 65, confirms he’s set to become a grandfather for the first time

Gary Lineker has revealed he is preparing to become a grandfather for the first time.
The former Match of the Day star, 65, shares four sons with his first wife, Michelle (George, 34, Harry, 32, Tobias, 30, and Angus, 28), before filing for divorce in 2006.
Gary shared the happy news in the latest episode of Netflix’s The Rest Is Football and discussed how he’s preparing to become a grandfather for the first time with Gordon Ramsay.
He said: ‘We have another thing in common, we are both about to become grandparents for the first time. How exciting is this?!’
Gordon later replied: ‘I’m secretly horrified because you can’t do much until they talk and communicate with you, we’re not going to breastfeed, are we?’
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Gary Lineker for comment.
Last year, Gary celebrated son Harry’s wedding to wife Annabelle in Ibiza, where he reunited with brother Wayne after their 17-year feud.

Gary and Wayne’s feud dates back to 2008, when former England and Barcelona striker Gary started seeing Danielle Bux and brought her to Ibiza for a holiday.
Earlier this month, the Leicester City star shared that he has been enjoying being single for a decade and has no plans to change his single status.
‘I like being on my own. “I’m so used to it now that I get a little selfish, but I can’t talk back to anyone,” he admitted during a conversation on Louis Theroux’s podcast.
When asked if he was ‘alone in a big house’, Gary added ‘me and a dog’. But my children are always with me… I’m absolutely happy on my own.’
When asked about romance, Gary was insistent: ‘No, I think I’m done. ‘I don’t know, you never know, but I really can’t imagine living with someone again.’
The former England striker was then asked about ‘physical needs’, but joked that ‘if you get to a certain age you put in so much effort’, before joking about ‘a big blue pill’.
‘It may vary, but you know, I love the company of women. I have a lot of friends I go out to dinner with.’
During their relationship, Gary and his first wife Michelle enjoyed great highs as the footballer became one of the best strikers in the world; They earned a corresponding pay packet, but also faced deep setbacks, including when the couple’s first-born son, George, battled leukemia when he was just eight weeks old and was given a survival rate of only ’10 to 20 per cent’.
George spent the next seven months undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This saved his life, but several years passed before he was told the all clear was clear.

Reflecting on the ‘really brutal’ period, Gary, who was then playing for Tottenham, admitted: ‘It was very difficult. Michelle spent seven months in the hospital. I didn’t leave him except some nights when we went out for dinner.’
‘I was there all day long. There wasn’t enough room for both of us to sleep anyway. ‘I didn’t play for about three or four weeks but football actually helped me a lot when I came back to training.’
‘It was in the middle of the season. They allowed me… I didn’t play for a few weeks, then I came back to training. And actually, you know what, the only time I didn’t think about football at that point was football.’
‘And I was able to take some time off and then come back playing again after a few weeks. But you know, being back in hospital all day was incredibly difficult.’
‘But even though there was always some hope, you just kind of held on to it. You know, Georgie is now 34 years old, incredibly healthy and very well, wonderful… She’s in very good health. It’s a fitness machine. He works every day. It’s going really well. And he’s got a great sense of humor about everything.’
Following his first divorce, Gary married Welsh actress and model Danielle in a ceremony in Italy in 2009.
They announced that after seven years together they were going their separate ways because the former no longer wanted children, but they remained on friendly terms and were regularly seen together on dinner dates and holidays.
Danielle later moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career and went on to find love with Nate Greenwald, an Ivy League-educated CAA attorney.
The model, who is already the parent of 24-year-old daughter Ella from a previous relationship, welcomed her second daughter, Romy Wren, in August 2017.
