Israel strikes Hamas targets in Gaza after multiple ceasefire violations

The Israeli army launched an offensive against Hamas in Gaza after accusing the terrorist group of repeatedly violating a ceasefire agreement on Sunday.
An Israeli military official confirmed the attacks to Fox News on Sunday, citing attacks by Hamas since Friday. The attack on Israeli forces all occurred beyond the line from which Israel had withdrawn under the terms of the agreement, the official said.
“The terrorist organization Hamas carried out numerous attacks on Israeli forces beyond the yellow line. The attacks included RPG firing on a military force and sniper fire on a military force,” the official told Fox News. he said.
“Both incidents occurred in Israeli-controlled territory, east of the yellow line. This is a bold violation of the ceasefire,” the official added.

Israel responded by striking areas in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
The reported attacks on Israeli troops came after Hamas fought rival Palestinian groups for days after the ceasefire took effect.

According to Reuters, Hamas has executed at least 33 people in recent days in what authorities described as a “show of force” campaign after the ceasefire. Israeli sources say most of those killed belonged to families accused of collaborating with Israel or supporting rival militias.

The US State Department warned on Saturday that Hamas could break the agreement peace agreement with a “planned attack” on Palestinian civilians.
“This planned attack on Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and serious violation of the ceasefire agreement and undermine the important progress achieved through mediation efforts,” the ministry said in a statement on social media. he said. “The guarantors demand that Hamas fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire conditions.”
