Govt to sell up to 6 pc in NHPC; OFS opens on Tuesday

The government said on Monday that it will sell up to 6 per cent stake in NHPC at a floor price of Rs 500. ₹71 per share via offer for sale (OFS) as of Tuesday.
“Government of India has announced OFS in NHPC Ltd with a base offer of 3 per cent of its equity capital and Green Shoe Option of additional 3 per cent in case of oversubscription. The floor price has been fixed as follows: ₹71 per share,” Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) Secretary Arunish Chawla said.

OFS opens on June 2 for non-retail investors and June 3 for retail investors.
Sale of more than 60.27 crore shares representing 6 percent stake at a floor price of 2000 TL ₹71 shares yield approx. ₹4,200 crore to the exchequer.
This will be the third OFS of a public sector company in the current financial year. Last week, the government sold 2 percent stake in Coal India through OFS ₹5,542 crore. In May, it sold an 8.08 percent stake in the Reserve Bank of India. ₹2,266 crore. All together, disinvestment continues so far in FY27 stand ₹7,808 crore.
27 Fiscal Year Budget, ₹80,000 crore through disinvestment and monetization of assets, more than double that figure ₹33,837 crore has been given in the Revised Estimates for FY26.
