Police are reportedly responding to a shooting at Grand Central Station in New York. Two people were hospitalized in critical condition, according to the FDNY. According to the NY Post, police shot a man carrying a machete; however, the accuracy of the weapon has not yet been verified. It was stated that the incident took place on the platform of trains number 4, 5 and 6 outside the city.
Video taken by a witness shows a taped off area inside the subway station and a large group of police and first responders. According to publisher Pix11, there was also a stabbing incident, but this has not yet been confirmed by authorities. At 9:47 a.m. local time, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) suspended subway trains from Grand Central-42 due to an NYPD investigation. He announced that he bypassed the street.
