Gunman opens fire at German youth welfare facility, killing 6: reports

A suspect has been detained after six people were shot dead at a youth center in northern Germany on Monday, authorities said.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said he was “deeply shocked” by the violence in a place meant to protect women and children.
