HBO’s Harry Potter to Return for Second Season

washington: According to Variety, HBO has officially given the green light to the second season of the “Harry Potter” series, the first season of which will air this Christmas. According to the press, this news coincides with the channel’s plan to adapt all seven ‘Harry Potter’ books by JK Rowling into seven seasons on television over the course of a decade. According to Variety, the shooting of Season 2, which will be based on the book ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, will begin this fall. Jon Brown, who wrote the first season of the adaptation, will serve as co-showrunner for Season 2.
He agrees with current showrunner Francesca Gardiner, who said in a statement: “As we laid out our plans for our conflicting production schedules to finish Season 1 by Christmas and return to production for Season 2, it became clear that finding a co-showrunner was key to maintaining our momentum. I loved working with Jon from the first day we met on ‘Succession’ to our final time together on ‘Harry Potter.’ I admire his writing, but he is also a great collaborator and a lovely person.” human
We’re lucky to have him, Variety reported. “I’m incredibly excited to be collaborating with Francesca as co-showrunner. It was a joy to write on ‘The Philosopher’s Stone,’ and I want to thank Francesca and HBO for believing in me to continue this extraordinary journey. Apparently, you’re never too old to get an invitation to Hogwarts,” Brown said, as quoted by Variety. Season 1, titled ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, based on the UK version of the title of the first ‘Harry Potter’ book, begins with Harry (Dominic McLaughlin)’s 11th birthday, when he receives his acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which opens up a new world for him. Gardiner also forces him to confront a dangerous enemy from his past; director Mark Mylod serves as executive producer alongside Rowling, Neil Blair and Brontë Film and TV’s Ruth Kenley-Letts and Heyday Films Television’s David Heyman.
