The teacher who allegedly raped goats was arrested. A video posted on social media reportedly showed the 43-year-old man sexually abusing goats, and the man has since been arrested on suspicion of bestiality.
He was arrested on Wednesday, July 15, following a police investigation. It is believed that the suspect kept a herd of goats at his home and recorded the videos himself. He was a teacher at a local high school and the incident, which allegedly occurred between April and July this year, sent shockwaves through the local community.
As reported by IOLThe man was a teacher at Maphovela High School in the village of Odhaleni in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Local media reported that he raped goats in the nearby village of eSitetemeni, where he was well known in the community.
A local resident said: “SPCA officials allegedly arrived at the police station with video footage of the suspect sexually abusing goats and demanded criminal charges be filed against him.”
It is believed that the goats in the video belong to the suspect. Local leader Induna Dlamini said the man was born and raised in the village with his family.
KwaZulu-Natal Police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda said: “Mahlabathini police arrested a 43-year-old man on charges relating to bestiality, animal cruelty and sexual assault.
“It is claimed that the suspect was seen in a video on social media sexually abusing goats. He was later followed and arrested. The incidents are thought to have occurred between April and July of this year.”
Bestiality is a crime under South African law and the suspect faces a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. In 2022, a man was sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually abusing his neighbor’s dog.
