Youth killed as bike rams metro pillar in Kochi

A 26-year-old man died after his two-wheeler crashed into a metro pillar in Kalamassery in the early hours of Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Musthafa, a native of Karipur in Malappuram and resident of Kakkanad.

Musthafa, who runs an IT start-up in Kochi with his friends, was returning to his hometown when the accident occurred. Police declared that he was brought dead even though he was taken to Government Medical College Hospital in Kalamassery.

“According to CCTV footage, the overspeeding vehicle is suspected to have gone out of control before hitting the pole. A detailed investigation is on,” said an officer from Kalamassery police.
