I-4 closed. What to know before you start your morning commute

Expect delays on Interstate 4 the morning of April 6.

I-4 is closed due to flooding in Osceola County and traffic is being diverted to the interstate, according to FL511 and Florida Highway Patrol websites.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected across much of Florida today.

Here’s what you need to know.

All lanes are closed on I-4 near Kissimmee, Florida

All lanes on I-4 in Osceola County were closed due to flooding on April 6, 2026.

All eastbound and westbound lanes are closed at mile marker 62 – World Drive – near Kissimmee in Osceola County.

The interstate, which was closed in both directions for hours, remained closed as of 4:58 a.m. Monday morning.

Why is I-4 closed?

Roadway flooding caused authorities to close the interstate at World Drive, according to FHP and FL511.

FL511 flooding affected a two-mile section of I-4 between State Route 429 (mile marker 60) and World Drive (mile marker 62).

Eastbound and westbound traffic on I-4 is being diverted to World Drive.

A. stood at the front It is predicted to impact Central and South Florida early this week, according to the Florida Department of Emergency Management.

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected in the central and southern parts of the Florida Peninsula, where there is a 35-55% chance of rain in the front reaches of Central Florida on Monday.

“Increased rain coverage is possible across Central and South Florida Monday night and into Tuesday as a weak low pressure system develops along this front and moves across the Peninsula,” the Division of Emergency Management said.
