The bomb dropped while I was helping prepare food for my beloved godmother’s funeral.
Butter knife in hand, her daughter explained that the wonderful woman whose life we were about to celebrate had an extramarital affair with her own cousin’s husband, and that the affair continued for 40 of the 50 years she was married.
