Talented trio spearhead Maher’s charge at Bathuurst

The strong training facility, led by Ciaron Maher, is set to take Bathurst by storm on Tuesday with three of the leading contenders roaming around.
The all-conquering Maher team found success on the Gold Coast on Saturday with former Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Pride Of Jenni claiming Hollindale Stakes victory and the success is expected to continue at Bathurst.
Jockey Louise Day will link up with Maher when she partners Lady Lonsdale in the Bathurst Regional Safety Maiden Hurdle (1200m).
Lady Lonsdale began her career in Victoria under the tutelage of Ben, Will and JD Hayes, making her first two starts before moving to the Maher camp.
He is yet to feature in his next five starts but has recently made two NSW starts, sixth at Rosehill and fifth at Newcastle.
Zac Wadick will race alongside Six Kings, the next of Maher’s Bathurst runners, in the Happy Birthday Dean Mirfin Maiden Hurdle (1400m).
Six Kings races in the same colors as Lady Lonsdale and the son of Wootton Bassett has made three starts since continuing his fourth-place spell at Nowra before reaching a last-start fifth at Orange.

Maher’s third and final runner will be Bivacco, who will compete in the Bathurst Plumbing and Gas Fittings Grade 1 Handicap (1100m) with Chad Lever in the seat.
Bivacco, a three-year-old gelding by Bivouac, broke his maiden in Canberra in February. He has since made three starts to finish fourth at Goulburn, a close third at Scone and a final start of fifth at Goulburn while remaining unbeaten again. Bivacco had an ideal draw at the second barrier.
Meanwhile, Bathurst-based Dean Mirfin has three chances in his home clash with Michelangelo (Jacob Stiff) in the Inland Digital Class 1 and Maiden Plate (1800m), Giovana Star (Leeshelle Small) in the CWNET P/L Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m) and Scopics (Jordan Quince) in the Central West Electrical Benchmark 66 Handicap. (1200m).
