India Reclaim No.1 Spot in ICC T20I Rankings

Dubai: India on Sunday regained the top spot in the ICC men’s T20I rankings after taking an unassailable 2-0 lead over Zimbabwe in the ongoing three-match series in Harare.

The reigning T20 world champions regained the top spot from England, who dethroned Shreyas Iyer’s team after a 4-0 series win in the last over.

India had lost 0-2 to Ireland before this.

But the Men in Blue got back to winning ways by beating Zimbabwe by seven wickets in the first T20I in Harare and then took a 2-0 lead with a 90-run win in the second match.

India’s top-order batsman Ishan Kishan, who scored a fifty in the second T20I against the African side, leads the batsmen with 892 points, followed by Abhishek Sharma (858 points).

Tilak Varma, who made a quick fifty in the second T20I, retained his eighth spot with 733 points.

Spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who was not part of the Zimbabwe series, is the only Indian bowler in the top 10 as he retained his fifth spot with 683 points.
