“No matter what side of politics you are on, everyone has the right to their opinion, even if you disagree,” he wrote.

“Freedom of expression fosters critical thinking, prevents group thinking, and allows people to develop tolerance for perspectives other than their own.

“Most importantly, it is an integral part of a strong democracy.”

Judd worked as a weather presenter for Nine and was a presenter on Postcards.

Stefanovic broke his silence on Friday after his swift departure from Nine, ending his 21-year career.

To confirm that he was “free”, the former TV presenter made a post on monetized YouTube, rewarding himself for views.

“I am free, truly independent,” Stefanovic said.

“I haven’t had a chance to thank my free viewers for 21 wonderful years, so thank you for getting me through the ups and downs, I have my thanks and all my love.”

Stefanovic also used the video to explain the philosophy behind his independent podcast, saying he believes Australians should hear a variety of perspectives and make up their own minds.
