Infosys first major IT outsourcer to outline a cut in fresher hiring as automation scales

“We had given guidance on new hires for the year and said the number we were expecting was 20,000,” Infosys chief financial officer Jayesh Sanghrajka said at the company’s post-earnings press conference on October 16. “We’ve already hired more than 12,000 new people in the first half. So we’re on track to hire close to 20,000 this year.”
