Inter-State Robber Gang Busted, 4 Arrested In Khammam

Hammam: A notorious interstate theft gang, involved in a series of thefts in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, was nabbed by the Telangana Police in Khammam district on Tuesday. While four gang members were arrested, the police started an operation to capture the remaining defendants.

Police seized two motorcycles used in the crimes. Based on reliable information, VM Banjar police nabbed the accused from a farm on the outskirts of Lankapalli village in Penuballi mandal in the district.

During interrogation, the accused confessed that they were involved in at least seven cases of theft registered in Khammam and Eluru districts and allegedly stole gold, silver, other valuables and cash worth Rs 16 Lakh.

While the defendants are being referred to the courthouse, efforts to track down the other gang member, identified as Ponnuri Rambabu, are continuing.
