Israel defense chief warns strikes on Iran could resume soon, signals campaign not over

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Thursday that Israel could soon restart military action against IranianIt signals that despite what it describes as devastating setbacks against Tehran, Israel views the broader campaign as potentially incomplete.

Speaking at the promotion ceremony of the new Israeli Air Force commander, Katz said Iran had been pushed “years back” last year but that Israel may need to take action again soon to achieve long-term strategic goals.

Katz said, “Iran suffered very heavy blows last year; these blows set it back years in every field.” he said.

Yet Katz’s sharpest warning revealed that despite the current ceasefire, Israeli leaders do not view the conflict with Iran as resolved.

“The blockade will continue until a real deal is reached,” Trump said on Thursday, according to Axios, signaling that Washington intends to keep up the pressure until Iran meets U.S. demands over its nuclear program and broader security concerns.

“We support this effort and are providing the necessary support, but we may need to take action again soon to ensure these goals are met,” Katz said.

The warning came after the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced a dramatic military supply increase, with two cargo ships docking in Ashdod and Haifa and the arrival within 24 hours of several transport planes carrying about 6,500 tons of military equipment, including thousands of air and ground munitions, military trucks and combat vehicles.

Former Israeli national security advisor Maj. Gen. (retired) Yaakov Amidror told Fox News Digital that Washington and Jerusalem are now seriously preparing for two possible paths: a prolonged blockade or renewed military action designed to economically drain Iran.
