Jennings Co., Jeffersonville Police officials warn parents of new TikTok challenge

Southern Indiana law enforcement agencies are urging parents to talk to their children about the dangers of a new TikTok challenge, according to Facebook posts. Jennings County Sheriff’s Office And Jeffersonville Police Department.

The posts include details of the new trend, with participants approaching random houses with an airsoft gun and trying to open the door by kicking it.

“If the door is forced open, the teens will quickly fire the airsoft gun into the house before escaping,” authorities said. “However, when the door cannot be forced open, the youths will stand next to the residence and shoot the homeowner with an air gun as they leave the house.”

Jennings County Sheriff’s Office officials said the department was dispatched to a similar incident early Oct. 4. The ministry tracked down all the people involved in the incident.

“We fear this has the potential to become more popular as time goes on,” Jennings County officials said. “This trend poses an extreme danger to everyone involved.”
