‘Inflated’ pool chairs debut at Brisbane’s State Library
Pink chairs ‘inflated’, An art installation that waves in New York and Venice found his permanent house in the Queensland state library in Brisbane.
CJ Hendry’s pink chairs found a permanent house in Brisbane’s state library.
Brisbane artist CJ Hendry, who donates the brain behind the “Taran Pink” chairs to the state library. It is actually 130 kg of rice while giving the illusion of inflatable.
“People often approach the chairs with a little confusion; they are initially thrown by bringing together the material and the environment.
The New York -based artist is known for its large -scale drawings. His work also extends to luxury fashion, fabrics, flowers and pop-cultural symbols.
Born in South Africa, Hyperrealist artist CJ Hendry, trained by Brisbane.
Vicki McDonald, CEO of the State Library, said Hendry’s generous donation of the installation was warmly welcomed.
“This is the first permanent installation [of Inflated] I think it’s quite iconic anywhere in the world. You think they’il be unexpected, swelling, but they’re not. It is quite contrary to what your expectation is. ”
Pink chairs took part in New York.
McDonald said that donation was important because Hendry’s pieces were searched around the world.
