Treasury Secretary Bessent says ‘we have the makings of a deal’ with China

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent expressed his confidence that the US and China are on the way to Pact as the US and China approached an important tariff on Thursday.
“I believe we have the construction of an agreement,” CNBC said during an interview in “Squawk Box”. “There are still a few technical details on the Chinese side between us. I’m sure this will be done, but not 100%.”
Bessent did not give any details about what a final agreement would look with China.
However, President Donald Trump has not yet discussed the problem, and said that the two sides negotiated in Stockholm as “difficult” for two days. Trump said he had to sign personally with China about any agreement.
“The Chinese are difficult negotiators.
The two sides are in the ceasefire on tariffs after they have previously started aggressive tasks for each other. There is an agreement until August 12th. While the US had 145% of Chinese imports, China faced 125%.
Since then, the US has reduced its rate to 30%, while China has dropped to 10%.
The United States expressed his concerns about the purchase of Iranian oil and that it provides technology to Russia that can be used in the battlefield.
