King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to travel to parts of the United States starting Monday, with new details outlining a multi-city visit to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Buckingham Palace announced that the royal couple will visit Washington, D.C., New York City and Virginia from April 27 to April 30, marking King Charles’ first official visit to the United States as monarch.
Queen Elizabeth II Elizabeth had previously made four official visits to the United States in 1957, 1976, 1991 and 2007.

King Charles is also scheduled to address Congress, according to The Associated Press; This is Queen Elizabeth II. It marks the second time a British monarch has addressed a joint meeting, after Elizabeth II’s speech in 1991.
New York City
After Washington, the king and queen will travel to New York, where they are expected to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, ahead of this year’s 25th anniversary, Fox News reported.

They will also meet with first responders and victims’ families, among other events around the city.

King Charles is set to visit a community organization focused on mentoring children through sustainable urban farming initiatives, while Queen Camilla will attend an event celebrating literature, including the 100th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh, People magazine reported.
Virginia
The trip will end in Virginia, where the royal couple will attend a community block party celebrating America 250, a nationwide celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday, as reported by Fox News.

King Charles is also expected to visit a national park to meet Indigenous communities involved in conservation efforts, while Queen Camilla will attend an event covering US horse racing, Fox13 reported.
