Kochi-Bahrain AI Express flight cancelled amid Kuwait airspace closure

The Air India Express flight from Kochi to Bahrain was canceled on Wednesday morning after Kuwait closed its airspace following an attack on the international airport there.
“Flight IX 439 (COK-BAH) scheduled to depart at 11.45am was cancelled. A total of 119 people were disembarked and subsequently sent back,” an airport spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Air India Express announced that it has suspended its flights to Kuwait until June 6, 2026.
“We continue to monitor the situation closely and will review and adjust our operations as necessary. We are providing support and assistance to affected guests,” an Air India Express spokesperson said in a statement.
The airline said passengers were notified directly via their registered contact information. “Guests are advised to check their flight status on airindiaexpress.com and ensure their contact information is up to date.
