Kylian Mbappe: Paris St Germain ordered to pay France star 60m euros

Tuesday’s decision by the Paris Labor Court marks an important turning point in the long legal battle since Mbappe left the capital.

PSG was instructed to transfer an equivalent amount of unpaid salaries and bonuses at the end of the 2023-24 season. The court also rejected PSG’s counterclaims, as well as Mbappe’s other claims.

However, at the most important point of the conflict where the legal process began, the court ruled in favor of the striker.

Mbappe specifically wanted to turn the PSG agreement into a legally open-ended contract and demanded a total of 260 million euros, claiming that the club had been mistreated.

Meanwhile, the French champion argued that Mbappe had verbally agreed to give up some bonuses ahead of his final season at the club and then left for Real Madrid on a free transfer.

The €440 million counterclaim was based specifically on the failure of a possible move against Saudi Arabia.

PSG announced that it would pay the amount as ordered. While they left the door open to appeals, noting their success on the pitch without France captaining, they indicated they were willing to give up on lengthy legal proceedings once and for all.
