He was a rock star, which not only meant he needed many women in his life, but it also meant he needed to go where he needed to go. But I know he talks about me and thinks about me from the people around him. ‘We were good together.’
Ignoring her feelings, Kylie adds: ‘Should have been, would have been, could have been – whatever. But it was an amazing time. Even though I have tears in my eyes, the memories make me feel good. It was nice to have someone, to feel like you were a good team.

Before the Netflix documentary was released, Kylie opened up about her love life as she revealed she dated narcissists and how she feels happier being single.
The showbiz world was stunned in 1989 when clean-cut Kylie began a relationship with Michael.
At the time, she was known for her infectious, bubblegum pop songs like I Should Be So Lucky and The Locomotion, while Michael was famous for his feminine, partying and exciting stage performances.
In the new three-part series, Kylie tells the story of her life with the man she met when she was 21 and about whom she once said, “sex, love, food, drugs, music, travel, books, you name it, he wanted to experience it… as her partner, I experienced most of it.”
Michael split from Kylie in 1991 and died by suicide six years later; However, although the pain of the separation shattered him, he still says that, more than thirty years later, he still ‘felt like he was with me all the time’.
The relationship became ‘increasingly difficult’ due to long periods of time apart while INXS was on the road, making it ‘really difficult’ for them to see each other.
Visibly emotional when talking about her former flame, she says she is very aware that ‘the emotions and memories I have had with him and that time may seem disproportionate’, adding that she ‘felt protected, nurtured, valued and believed’ by Michael the night she accompanied him to the premiere of The Delinquents, a film about which she wrote the hit Suicide Blonde, where she wore a peroxide pixie cut wig.
