LAURA CRAIK: Dua Lipa’s elegant bridal two-piece was inspired by Bianca Jagger

While the jury is still out on whether Callum Turner will be cast as the next James Bond, the Fantastic Beasts actor signed a different kind of deal by marrying his partner of two years, singer Dua Lipa, on Saturday.
Wearing a flashy all-navy ensemble of a Louis Vuitton double-breasted suit, shirt and tie, her Grammy-winning pop star took inspiration from her husband, Bianca Jagger, who memorably wore a white Yves Saint Laurent suit to marry rocker Mick in 1971.
Ms. Lipa looked dapper in a custom-made ivory skirt suit by French fashion house Schiaparelli, a favorite of Demi Moore and Beyonce, designed by the brand’s Texan creative director, Daniel Roseberry.
The sculptural look consisted of a fitted jacket and matching below-the-knee skirt adorned with Surrealist gold buttons, a trademark of the French house.
She accessorized her outfit with a dramatic wide-brimmed hat by Stephen Jones, white gloves, and white Christian Louboutin heels.

Ms. Lipa’s look appeared to be heavily inspired by the wedding dress Bianca Jagger wore for her wedding to Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger in Tropez, France, in May 1971.
It remains to be seen whether Ms. Lipa’s registry office look will earn her a place among celebrity brides like Bianca Jagger’s.
However, while one kiss is enough for Ms. Lipa, two kisses are enough for weddings. Yesterday’s ceremony was merely a warm-up for the main event, a three-day celebration in the Sicilian capital Palermo that runs from Thursday to Saturday.
While her Italian nuptials will undoubtedly give her the opportunity to show off her stunning bridal looks, it’s unlikely Ms Lipa, who has an estimated fortune of £115 million, can match the 27 wedding outfits Lauren Sanchez wore during her three-day wedding celebrations with Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos in Venice last June.
As for what the singer will wear on her (second) big day, the smart money is on Atelier Versace.
Ms. Lipa, who received critical acclaim for her single One Kiss in 2018, and 71-year-old designer Donatella Versace have a long-standing friendship; The singer often wears Versace on the red carpet.
She even appeared in advertising campaigns for the Italian fashion house and modeled for Versace’s spring/summer 2022 show.
All things considered, it’s almost certain that Donatella will be the one.
